Chris Hew Joins COVVI! | COVVI News And Blogs

Chris Hew Joins COVVI!

Chris Hew is the latest addition to our mechanical engineering team and has been settling in at COVVI HQ this week. Our Chief Technical Officer Ted already knew Chris from his previous ventures, and both subcontracted each other in the past for various engineering projects; making him the first choice for us in recruiting another member to our growing workforce of brilliant minds.

We asked Chris what attracted him to an engineering role at COVVI:

I like the idea of working for a start-up, and with that I mean being part of something early on, which has the potential for me to gain a breadth of experience that I wouldn’t get as part of a larger team and have greater opportunity for my role to develop and change as the company does.

I really like what COVVI does and its really positive message, and although it is a new challenge for me, to be a better engineer I needed something that could accelerate my ability to grow in my skills and abilities in a fresh environment as part of a new team…I like that I can truly contribute here and prove myself useful in an already-exciting environment.”

Despite being based in Sheffield, Chris has been used to traveling from further afield in previous roles and his place at COVVI has made the commute more than worth it – he greatly enjoys utilizing creativity on a daily basis in addition to supporting his colleagues in the troubleshooting of the many intricate processes and mechanisms involved during the development process. The team at COVVI have wasted no time putting him to work and is currently liaising with suppliers to establish reliable supply chains for product components and reviewing the production design, but for Chris, this is just the beginning of his COVVI career.
