ITV Features COVVI Advocate Sarah de Lagarde
80% human, 20% robot. That is how COVVI advocate, Sarah de Lagarde now describes herself. Sarah recently had the opportunity to sit down with Sam Holder from ITV News to tell her story and demonstrate how much this technology can make a difference in people’s lives.
She got the chance to explain the inner workings of the bionic arm and COVVI Hand to help others understand how it all works. She underwent 8 months of physical training to prepare herself for bearing the weight of the bionic arm and can now she’s able to use her new it in a variety of daily tasks, such as making coffee and watering the plants in her garden.
“My big dream would be to be able to ride a bicycle with it or a car, that would be awesome.” Sarah looks brightly to the future and sees an endless array of possibilities for herself since donning the technology.
ITV News London picked up on Sarah’s story to send a poignant message. Her story is one of resilience and resolve. She has defied all odds and emerged 8 months down the line so much stronger; all by remaining positive. She is an inspiration to many people around the world. A mother and woman who never gave up even in the face of adversity.
We’re proud to have Sarah as a part our COVVI advocate family and she’s a shining example of everything we wanted to accomplish as a prosthetics manufacturer. We’re excited to see the adventures that Sarah embarks on next, and how this technology can be used to support many others like Sarah who fight to improve their quality of life.
