Our Sustainability Journey
In June 2024, we embarked on our journey to make a strong commitment to sustainability. We worked with Walker Resource Management (WRM) to calculate, review and reflect on our current carbon footprint, highlighting areas for improvement. The output of this project is a ‘Carbon Reduction Plan’ which is supported by a detailed action plan that allows us to focus on key deliverables over the coming months and years.
COVVI has formed an internal ‘Sustainability Team’ comprising of forward-thinking volunteers within the business, who are all keen to have a positive impact on our sustainability. Their role is driving innovative projects, whilst managing and mitigating any potentially negative environmental, ecological and human consequences.
We accept that a company-wide, collaborative approach to sustainability is essential for success. We have therefore engaged with local training and networking opportunities to assist us in our efforts to employ the best practices and deliver an educational program to the wider team; ensuring engagement with the programme and that the correct initiatives are introduced.
We have also aligned our sustainability programme with NHS England’s programme and as such we are committing to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2045.
COVVI CEO, Simon Pollard, said that “having recently secured ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, COVVI is at a pivotal point in developing and implementing its ongoing corporate strategy. As we look to navigate new global markets, it is essential that we formulate a responsible vision maximising business growth whilst proactively managing and meeting our sustainability goals”.
