IP44 Testing (Ingress Protection Testing)
We are delighted to announce the results of our exhaustive IP Testing process where our COVVI Hand passed to certify as IP44, which classifies the degree of protection that is provided against solids and water. IP44 has been a huge goal for us since inception, so it really is a huge achievement for Team COVVI as this has underpinned the R&D phase.
So, what does this mean for the COVVI Hand?
Well, IPXX has 2 numbers attached to the end, each signifying a different protection. The first is associated with protection against foreign objects, meaning the COVVI Hand with ‘4’ has the ability to protect against ingress of FO’s larger than 1mm (including wires, gravel etc) that could cause damage. The second is associated with protection against liquids and the COVVI hand grades ‘4’ meaning it has the ability to protect against ingress from splashing liquids (thus, splash proof!).
We are incredibly pleased to have passed the IP Testing process, and can’t give enough credit to the team who have worked tirelessly to attain these incredibly high standards.
