COVVI User Shares Bionic Handshake As She Graduates With Law Degree

Sarah Almagaro Vallejo is used to taking home medals and trophies in adaptive surfing, but this month she shared a different kind of achievement – her recent graduation.
Sarah graduated with her law degree from the University of Málaga this July. At the ceremony, Sarah accepted her degree in style, sporting both of her COVVI Hands whilst receiving handshakes from each of her tutors as she walked across the stage to collect her certification- with family and friends watching on from the audience.
“A long but not difficult path,” Sarah wrote via her Instagram “it’s not a complicated degree like many told me. You just have to put in the hours, and that’s probably the hardest part.”
Alongside her academic accomplishments, Sarah is also a world champion surfer, representing Spain at a number of competitive events and national showcases. Earlier this year, Sarah competed in the Hawai’i Adaptive Surfing Championships, managing to beat the competition and leaving the event with a first-place finish.
Throughout this time, Sarah has shared her journey with using advanced prosthetics through her social media channels, advocating for people with limb loss and limb difference at a number of different events on both a local and international level.
Simon Pollard, COVVI CEO, said: “COVVI is all about making a difference to the lives of real people, and being a part of their journey in a meaningful way. Watching all that Sarah has achieved over the last year has been a humbling experience, and one that we are so grateful to have been part of in any way we can.”
