World Para Surfing Championship Win for COVVI Bionic Hand User

After bringing home first place at the European Championships in October, Sarah Almagro Vallejo has now been awarded Gold at the World Para Surfing Championships.
Taking place in California at the beginning of November, the event brought together nearly 140 athletes from 24 countries around the world to compete at an international level.
After days of harsh competition, Almagro finished her solo Prone 2 event with an excellent performance, achieving a total score of 16.17 points, securing her the gold medal.
Sarah, who competed as part of the Spanish national team, commented on her Instagram: “The happiness of hearing the final horn and the announcement that we were World Champions 2025 in Prone 2, was incredible. The conditions that were affecting us were brutal, but even though we had to wake up at 5.00 a.m., it was worth it!”
Simon Pollard, COVVI CEO, said, “I continued to be amazed by the ability that Sarah has to perform in the international Para-Surfing arena. She is truly a force to be reckoned with, both as an athlete and as an advocate for the limb difference community. Being a part of her journey is a great privilege for all of us here at COVVI.”
