COVVI Joins Global Leaders in Prosthetics at I.S.P.O World Congress

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) come together every two years to invite professionals and innovators from around the globe to meet at the I.S.P.O World Congress.
This year’s event, which took place in Stockholm, was the twentieth in the event’s history. Joining international speakers and global prosthetic leaders, the COVVI team headed to Sweden from 16-19 June for the congress, to demonstrate our advanced bionic hand.
CEO Simon Pollard was joined by COVVI’s Clinical Services Director, Shubham Agrawal, and COVVI advocate and user, Stephen Lowry — the first man in Ireland to be fitted with a multi-articulated bionic hand.
Opened by the Swedish Health Minister alongside a series of other dignitaries, the world congress incorporated scientific discussions with traditional activities, such as the celebration of Midsommar. The COVVI team also spoke with so many inspirational people from within the prosthetic field, as well as getting caught up with our bionic hand users from all over the world that were in attendance, taking the time to ask about their experiences.
Simon Pollard, CEO at COVVI said: “ISPO is always a fantastic opportunity to not only meet with the prosthetics professionals that distribute and fit our hand around the world, but showcase our advanced hand to those who may not already be familiar with the technology.
“Accompanied by Stephen Lowry, we were able to demonstrate the real-world applications that bionic upper-limb prosthetics can achieve. Always a professional hive of innovation, we were so happy to have been back at the event this year.”
Earlier this year, COVVI also attended ISPO’s Trent International Prosthetics Symposium (TIPS).
