COVVI Demos Advanced Bionic Hand at International Prosthetics Symposium
Joining professionals from around the world, COVVI showcased our innovative prosthetics at the Trent International Prosthetic Symposium (TIPS) from 19th – 21st March.
Taking place on the former cruise ship, SS Rotterdam, the meeting of clinicians and experts took place across three exciting days in the heart of the Netherlands, hosted by the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Director of Clinical Operations at COVVI, Shubham Agrawal, and Clinical Specialist Prosthetist, Kameron Maxwell, travelled to the event to demonstrate the full scope of how the COVVI Hand supports people around the world, as well as to hear more about the latest advancements within the field. This included learning more about Implantable Myoelectric Sensors (IMES), body-powered harnessing techniques, wireless electrodes, and a focus on user-orientated considerations.
Reflecting on his time at the event, Kameron said: “Attending TIPS was an enlightening experience. The strong sense of community engagement within prosthetics was evident, alongside the exceptional organisation of the event itself. Hearing about and seeing for myself the advancements happening in the world of prosthetics was inspiring, with these developments demonstrating the ongoing growth of our industry. ISPO continues to highlight the potential for future innovations capable of making an impact of the lives of those with upper limb absence.”
The COVVI team also had the opportunity to catch up with our colleagues at COAPT, speaking about how we can continue to drive innovation and progress in the field.
That wasn’t the only visitor that COVVI had at the event, as we were also joined by the IPSO LEGO Minifigure mascot, who dropped by to say ‘hello’ and posed for some pictures with our advanced bionic hand.
Earlier in the year, COVVI attended one of the largest prosthetics gatherings in America, read about our time at HangerLIVE.
