COVVI Wins Two Life Science Design Awards
It was announced in August 2022 that COVVI had won the ‘Design for Humanity’ and ‘Top Design’ awards in the category of Life Science Design at the 2022 European Product Design Awards. COVVI is humbled to have won these prestigious prizes, which is a huge accolade for a passionate team who have spent the last five years designing a world-leading multi-articulated bionic hand. Both these awards represent the positive social good our team is striving toward, which is a part of our ultimate mission of changing multiple lives around the world.
One recently added feature encapsulated this ideology, as it’s now the first upper-limb prosthesis with fully remote programming support from anywhere in the world; negating the need to visit a clinic for minor updates and issues. The hand can also provide real-time information from the user to our support team, which allows them to better understand how individuals are benefiting from the prosthesis and which areas need improvement; enabling greater personalisation for the individual.
The COVVI Hand combines modular design with advanced functionality and technology, to provide an unrivalled user experience. And its powerful level of customisable refinement makes users feel like a “badass superhero”.
COVVI CEO, Simon Pollard, said “to be nominated for such prestigious awards against the backdrop of so many amazing entries, leaves the team humbled and excited about our future prospects, as the company goes from strength to strength. To be recognised in this humanitarian design category is a fantastic achievement and a great honour for the entire team. Just like with our previous nominations and wins, these awards will act as further inspiration to work as hard as possible and continue our mission to change multiple lives together forever.”
