Jessica Smith Attends The TIME100 Impact Awards in Dubai
For the past three years, TIME has worked in partnership with the World Government Summit to present the TIME100 Impact Awards. With additional support from AI71 and Northern Data Group, these awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of artificial intelligence (AI), moving their industries and the world forward. This recognition underscores the critical role AI plays in shaping our future and highlights the accomplishments of those driving progress in this dynamic field.
The invite-only gala took place on February 11th and COVVI Advocate, Jessica Smith, was one of the esteemed attendees. The soiree at the Museum of the Future featured appearances by four TIME100 AI Impact Award honourees, Host Sara Murad, Presenter Esai Morales, as well as special musical performances by Dana Hourani and Harry Yeff (Reeps 100). Other leaders, influencers, visionaries and members of the global TIME100 community were also in attendance.
As an advocate, Jessica continues to showcase the power of the COVVI Hand around the world, and the impact it can have on those with limb differences. When speaking about the event, Jessica said “it was an honour to be a guest at the recent TIME100 Impact Awards. I’ve had the privilege of attending these awards for the past three years, with this year being the first time the awards were dedicated to AI”.
When the Museum of the Future was first constructed, three quotes were etched into the building from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, which encompass the ethos of events like this one, as well as the companies that push the forefront of technology, engineering and manufacturing.
“We won’t live for hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone.”
“The future will be for those who will be able to imagine, design and build it, the future does not wait, the future can be designed and built today.”
“The secret of the renewal of life, the development of civilization and the progress of humanity is in one word: innovation.”
It’s was an incredible evening for Jessica, who proudly wore the COVVI Hand and was surrounded by those who at the forefront of influencing the future of technology and AI. COVVI are grateful for the opportunities we are given and look forward to many more events in 2024 and beyond!
