COVVI Hand Now Available Via NHS Funding
We are extremely excited to announce that the NHS has now finalised plans that allow patients to apply for funding to get a multi-articulated hand in England.
Founded in Leeds over five years ago, one of our key goals was to work with government bodies, like the NHS, to supply the COVVI Hand to users around the world. COVVI works with distributors all around the world, but as a company that was founded in the UK and has our manufacturing facility located here, we are honoured to be a part of this opportunity to help change lives in a real, meaningful way.
This is a brand new initiative created by the National Health Service, which up until now hasn’t offered an advanced solution for upper-limb amputees. This exciting development will allow residents to apply and receive our prosthetic hand for free, as well as all the necessary treatments and procedures required to start their journey.
Our mission has always been to create an accessible myo-electric, multi-articulated device that could be used by as many people as possible; and with this opportunity, we’re one step closer to achieving that.
Both existing prosthetics users and amputees without a device are eligible to apply for funding in England. COVVI and Ortho Europe (our distributor to the NHS) are extremely well-positioned to support your journey and connect you to the relevant limb centre that can provide the best possible care. You can be assured that we will work with the clinician to provide the COVVI Hand, all the necessary accessories and the proper training to install and set up the device, should you meet all required criteria set out in the NHS policy.
