COVVI Secures NHS Wales Tender, Improving Access To Advanced Bionic Hand
The news comes less than two years after COVVI provided their first bionic hand through NHS England.
The COVVI Hand is a premium multi-articulating bionic hand for those with both limb loss and limb differences. With over 24 programmable grip patterns that mimic the human form, the hand supports users in a wide range of occupations and recreational activities to restore independence and support a balanced lifestyle.
Acquiring this tender means that the ordering process for clinicians who want to support patients will be streamlined, allowing users to experience the innovative COVVI technology.
COVVI’s UK Clinician, Kameron Maxwell, said: “This is another huge leap in providing access to COVVI’s groundbreaking technology to so many people. Using a multi-articulated hand to perform day to day tasks such as getting dressed in the morning, making food or going to the gym can truly transform lives on a day to day basis.
“COVVI are proud to join NHS Wales to become an integral part of the Supply Chain, where our commitment to providing premium and reliable upper limb prosthetic products helps to ensure that rehabilitative solutions reach those that will benefit from them most.”
This is the next of many chapters in an exciting future for COVVI, following the approval of NHS funding for multi-grip hands in September 2022. As a bionics manufacturer founded and based in the UK, COVVI looks to lead the way at home as well as all around the world. Working with the NHS, COVVI is taking steps towards democratising technology with the goal of ensuring that our advanced prosthetics are available within Wales to those with upper limb loss.
COVVI is well established in countries around the world and has a wide range of advocates that use the COVVI Hand to support their daily live, find out more: https://www.covvi.com/covvi-advocates/.
