Kameron And Stephen Showcase COVVI’s Cutting-Edge Technology
This past week, COVVI’s Clinical Specialist (Prosthetist) Kameron Maxwell and advocate Stephen Lowry attended the National Centre for Prosthetics & Orthotics at the University of Strathclyde to contribute to their upper limb teaching module. This session allowed prosthetics and orthotics students to experience the latest innovations in upper limb prosthetics, including the world-leading multi-articulating COVVI Hand and COAPT pattern recognition.
With the support of the technical staff at the NCPO, Kameron demonstrated the clinical process for students to experience, from taking measures and casting Stephen’s residual limb to fabrication of his custom socket system and assembly of his new prosthesis. Stephen’s new advanced prosthesis consists of a flexible thermoplastic inner socket, rigid (clear) PETG outer socket, with COVVI-associated componentry, COAPT’s pattern recognition system and the world-leading multi-articulating COVVI Hand.
Stephen will also join the team in showcasing this advanced prosthesis when we exhibit at the upcoming OT World conference in Leipzig, Germany. The entire team would like to extend our thanks to the staff and faculty at the National Centre for Prosthetics & Orthotics and North Sea Plastics for your continued support of this project.
