Paralympian, Annabelle Williams, Has Her COVVI Hand Final Fitting
Last week, Paralympic Gold Medallist Annabelle Williams, sat down for the last fitting of her COVVI Hand.
Born with a congenital limb deficiency in Sydney, Annabelle studied International Relations and Law at Bond University before travelling the world and eventually being selected to represent her nation at the Commonwealth Games in 2006.
It was not long before Annabelle was then chosen to represent Australia at the 2008 and 2012 Paralympic games, swimming her way to a bronze medal in Beijing and bagging gold in London.
In October 2023, Annabelle’s COVVI journey began, where she agreed to join our advocate line-up and help raise awareness of what is possible with our prosthetic technology. Since then, Annabelle has attended a series of fitting sessions in-between her busy schedule, which included spending time in Paris this summer as a host for the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Speaking on her journey so far, Annabelle said: “The process of using the hand has been great. The arm feels super light, I love the way it looks and I can’t wait to start using it!”
Annabelle is expected to receive her COVVI Hand just in time for Christmas. To find out more about her story, you can visit Annabelle’s advocate webpage: www.covvi.com/covvi-advocates/annabelle-williams/
